CSS Animation
CSS Animation is the animation you see on a website. We love this trend applied to graphics and text as you move through the site making it come alive and change depending on how you scroll down the site. The site below used this feature to have the truck drive towards you as you scroll down the site which brings new depth and interest to the design.
Sticky Menus
The menu or navigation bar gives you access to all the different pages of the site and provides you with a snapshot idea of what the site offers. Having this bar follow you as you move down a page makes the website easier to navigate. The easier your site is to navigate; the longer visitors will stay engaged with your site.
Flat Icons
Flat icons are the modern take on the bad 3-D graphics of the early 2000’s. they allow you to draw emphasis to a point while looking sleek and modern while doing so. They are easily changed to your color scheme and look great with the other flat design features that are currently trending.
Parallax Scrolling
Parallax scrolling is when the background image is set to scroll at a slower rate than the foreground, creating a 3D effect as you move down the page. This is one of the biggest trends of the year. It allows you to use a large image to draw attention while still having the text or graphics in the foreground be the focal point. You can see the example below live here.
Hero Images
Hero images are another great way to use large images as banners or headers in your website. Using large high quality photos really helps a websites pop. They are effective in enhancing the overall look of the site as well as giving the visitors a clue on what the site is all about. Remember the old saying, a picture is worth 1,000 words.
